The Metal Earth Stars Wars X-Wing Starfighter is a 3D Laser Cut Model. Cut from two 12cm square thin sheets of metal, simply pop out the pieces to construct this model X-Wing Starfighter using tabs and holes. An excellent DIY hobby model kit.
The Metal Earth models are amazingly detailed etched models that are fun and satisfying to assemble. Each model starts out as square metal sheets and you simply pop out the pieces and follow the included instructions to assemble your model. No glue or solder needed.
The starfighter is from the original Star Wars trilogy and the expanded universe. They are depicted as the primary interceptor and dogfighter of the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic.
X-wing starfighters were a type of starfighter marked by their distinctive S-foils that resembled an ‘X’ in attack formation. During the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance used T-65B X-wing starfighters in a number of battles, including the Battle of Yavin and the Battle of Endor. Approximately thirty years later, a different variation of X-wing, the T-70 were used by the Resistance, whereas a more advanced model, the T-85, was used by the New Republic Starfleet.
The Incom T-65 X-wing starfighter was the primary all-purpose starfighter of the Rebel Alliance and its successor governments. Known for its versatility and exceptional combat performance, it was a favorite with Rebel and New Republic pilots. Possessing deflector shields, a hyperdrive, an R2 astromech for repairs and navigation, and a complement of proton torpedoes, the X-wing allowed the Rebellion to launch raids in Imperial space with improved odds of a successful mission.
