Metal Earth models are made from laser-cut sheets of steel that are used to build unique licensed models such as the RQ-170 Sentinel! An excellent DIY hobby model kit.
This model comes in flat-packed sheets with insane levels of detail. It’s a unique and fulfilling challenge for dedicated model enthusiats to pop out the pieces and bend the tabs to assemble a model of this Officially Licensed RQ-170 Sentinel for their display box or collection.
You won’t require glue or scissors to complete this kit, all you’ll need is a keen eye, a steady hand. If you wish, a pair of tweezers or magnifying glass can be used to assist in removing the pieces from their backing, but the most important thing you’ll need is patience. It may take a few days!
The Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by Lockheed Martin and operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). While the USAF has released few details on the UAV’s design or capabilities, defence analysts believe that it is a stealth aircraft fitted with aerial reconnaissance equipment.
The RQ-170 Sentinel was developed by Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works as a stealth Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Journalists have noted design similarities between the RQ-170 and previous stealth and UAV programs such as the RQ-3 DarkStar and Polecat. It is a tailless flying wing aircraft, with pods, presumably for sensors or SATCOMs, built into the upper surface of each wing. Few details of the UAV’s characteristics have been released, but estimates of its wingspan range from approximately 65 feet (20 m) to 90 feet (27 m).
